The Data Protection law is changing and we at Woods Hair Ltd (trading as Chapters Hair Ltd) ‘Chapters’ want to keep you up to date with the steps Chapters are taking.
On the 25th May the General Data Protection Regulation, known as the GDPR, comes into effect. We want you to know that Chapters respects the information we hold on you and that we take security of your data very seriously.
This notice is designed to help you understand what cookies are, how Chapters use them and the choices you have in regards to their use.
WHAT ARE COOKIES
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your browser or the hard drive of your computer or other device when you visit our website. This allows Chapters website to recognise you as a user either for the duration of your visit or for repeat visits. They are not harmful and do not contain any information such as your address, date of birth or card details.

When making a purchase online all payment information goes through and used by PayPal. Ecommerce uses WooCommerce (an ecommerce extension made by Automatic who are owned by the WordPress founder, WordPress is the platform in which Chapters web page is built) WooCommerce is stored on the same server as the website.

DETAILS OF OUR THIRD PARTY COOKIES
Chapters only allow a single third party to access information when input online via our website to purchase gift vouchers. This third party is PayPal. PayPal need to access this information to complete your online purchase.
WHAT INFORMATION WE COLLECT FROM YOU
When you book an appointment with us, so we can create a profile for you we will need to take personal information such as;
Your full name
HOW DO WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
Information provided to use is only used within Chapters and not shared or sold to any third parties. Along with your personal information, Chapters will also keep a record of your appointments and recent visit information. This again is only used within Chapters and your stylist.
By providing a contact number you give permission for us to contact you directly regarding any appointment you have made or update to your appointment.
By providing a home address you give permission for us to collate geographical data of the cliental in which Chapters have. We do not use your home address for postal news or any such information.
WHAT ARE YOUR RIGHTS
You are entitled to request the following from Chapters, these are called your Data Subject Rights and there is more information on these on the Information Commissioners website
Right of access – To request your personal information and information about how we process it
Right to Rectification – To have your personal information corrected if it is inaccurate and to have incomplete information completed
